Set up SSO: First, we need to enable single sign-on (SSO) for the Polygon platform. This will streamline user access and simplify login procedures. SSO can be achieved by integrating a widely supported SSO solution, such as OAuth or SAML, with our user authentication system.
Define User Roles: Create a clear hierarchy of roles for the Polygon users, ensuring that access to sensitive data and administrative functions is limited to authorized personnel only. Typical roles could include administrator, regular user, and guest, with different levels of access rights corresponding to each role.
Configure Access Control: For each role, set specific permissions within the system. For example, administrators should have full access to all resources, while regular users should have limited access to specific applications or data. Guest accounts should only have read-only access to certain information.
Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): RBAC ensures that users can only access resources that are relevant to their roles. This reduces the risk of unauthorized access and simplifies the management of permissions across the system.
Regularly Review Access: Conduct periodic reviews of user roles and permissions to ensure that they remain up-to-date and aligned with current needs. This helps prevent any unauthorized access and ensures that the system remains secure and efficient.
