Power Cuts and the UPS Meeting Notes

Discussed the impact of power cuts on our Polygon server and the necessity of a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). Noted that without a UPS, the server could crash during a power outage, leading to data loss and service disruption. Agreed that a basic UPS with a runtime of at least 15 minutes would be sufficient to allow for a smooth shutdown of the server and to ensure data integrity during the transition to backup power.

Decided to purchase a UPS with a capacity to support both the server and key peripherals. Will set up the UPS to alert us via an email or SMS when the battery is low, to ensure timely replacement. Open questions include choosing the right brand and model, determining the exact runtime needed for critical applications, and setting up the email/SMS alert system.
